Two of Barcelona’s most infamous watering holes, these twin venues have hosted many a drunken night for locals and visitors alike – it is very popular with Erasmus students for example. See if you can snag one of the rustic wooden tables and order pitchers of sangria or a few litres of beer that come in a giant funnel with multiple taps.

Of the two locations one is a normal-sized bar right off the Ramblas in Raval, whilst the second is a massive “megatavern” near Razzmatazz nightclub. The latter lives up to its name, with the atmosphere of a giant German bierkeller, and a back room with (mostly wonky) pool tables, foosball and other entertainment. Downstairs there is a space that opens for concerts and dance classes.

Generally speaking it is only really busy at weekends between midnight and when it closes at 3am, when a young crowd come to fuel up before heading to some of the nearby clubs.
