Furia Cocktail Bar

Classy cocktail bar in Marina Village

The Port Olimpic zone is undoubtedly Barcelona’s hottest nightlife hub, especially during summer when folks flock to the beachside clubs in their skimpiest outfits and torso-hugging tops. In doing so many overlook this hidden gem in the elegant Marina Village, where it shares a home with Barcelona’s Casino and Frank Gehry’s world-famous ‘Fish’ sculpture.

Furia Restaurant & Cocktail Bar lies hidden behind a humble set of iron double doors, which once open reveal a glorious art deco interior of curving chrome fixtures, plush wall-hugging couches, a gorgeous marble bar top, and ‘flying saucer’-style hanging lights. A touch of humour is present too, in the glowing-eyed Roman emperors and goddesses that decorate the walls and preside over the ensuing orgia.

The Italian theme persists in a food menu of pizzas and bar snacks, but it’s the cocktails that prove most popular. Libations include the likes of Summer Fling, Moscow Mule, Hawaiian Kiss and the house special, the Mojito Furia, and are typically a notch or three above the standard fare of some fo the surrounding bars.

With DJs spinning hip-shaking tunes at the weekends, Furia is the perfect pre-party venue to warm up for a night of clubbing, and also popular with a somewhat more sophisticated crowd who don’t want to throw themselves into the madness of the Port Olimpic maelstrom, but still want to have a good time.

Find Furia under the right fin of Frank Gehry’s fish sculpture, as you cross the white girder bridge that spans Marina Village.
