Barcelona Stag Weekends
The best stag activities by day and night
By Duncan Rhodes
What to do on a Barcelona stag party, from classic action-packed and adrenaline activities, like paintball and go-karting, to original ideas like beach games, boat parties and bubble football.
Looking for the perfect destination for your mate’s stag weekend? Congratulations! You’ve just struck gold. Barcelona offers absolutely everything a man could want from a wild weekend, including dusk ’til dawn nightlife, a grand sweep of beaches full of semi-naked girls, beautiful weather, fantastic food, great things to do, and the best ever football team in the history of the game – FC Barcelona – and their 99,000 seater stadium, Camp Nou.
Imagine you and your mates touching down at El Prat Airport (hint: you might be able to fly cheaper to Reus or Girona with Ryanair), to be greeted by the year-round Spanish sunshine, hopping in your taxi or private transfer to your plush central apartments, and then getting straight into things with some sangria and cervezas in one of the city’s legendary beach bars, as you ogle caramel-skinned beauties and get into the spirit of your weekend away! Life doesn’t get any better than this!
During the day there’s tonnes of stuff to do in Barcelona, and even if a game of frisbee, topless girls and a swim in the Mediterranean doesn’t appeal, you can always wander around the different districts of the medieval Old Town, stopping off in laidback squares for some liquid refreshment and soaking up the vibe at a Spanish (or more precisely ‘Catalan’) pace.
If it’s stag activities, adventure and adrenaline you’re after you won’t have to look far for inspiration and fresh ideas. Barcelona is full of specialist tour operators, and you can book top activities like paintballing, go-karting, deep sea fishing or even Ferrari driving no sweat. Or of course take in a football match of either FC Barcelona, or RCD Espanyol (the city’s second team!). Both clubs offer stadium tours, which make a good alternative if you can’t get tickets for a game, or no one is playing during your visit.
On top of the aforementioned distractions, increasingly innovative ideas crop up year after year just to keep groups like you entertained… check out our list of original activities further down on the page for some inspiration on how to stand out from the crowd.
Come night time and the real fun and parties begin. There’s no better way than kicking off a night in Barcelona with some traditional Spanish or Catalan cuisine, such as tapas – this is the kind of food that will put hairs on your cojones. It’s all meat, bread, and more meat with barely a vitamin in sight.
After you’ve lined your stomachs then a pub crawl around the cool bars in the Gothic Quarter will get you in the mood, or – if you prefer – simply settle down into one of Barcelona’s many Irish pubs. Clubbing-wise Placa Reial or the Port Olimpic are your best bets, but read our nightlife guide for more.
You may even want to sign up for a VIP nightlife tour, which will take a lot of the hassle out of guestlists, not to mention organising your moronic mates after they’ve overdosed on local-strength mojitos.

Recommended Day Activities
We’ve already mentioned a few of the typical things you might want to get up to for your stag do, but here are a couple more original ideas specific to Barcelona.
For some sun, sea and shenanigans it doesn’t get better than this option, where you are joined by a couple of lovely hostesses for a mix of both sporty and silly games such as beach volleyball, football, limbo, bat’n’ball, tug of war and more. At €29 pp it’s a great way to turn a spot of sunbathing into one of the highlights of your trip, plus we’d recommend the €45 option where you get to try 45 minutes of Stand Up Paddling each on the Mediterranean. This fun water sport has exploded in popularity in the last couple of years and is easy to learn… although not so easy that some of your mates won’t make a prat out of themselves! Email email@example.com for more details or to book. You’ll hear back shortly.
If you’ve never tried this real life arcade game of a sport, then stop wasting time – book it now! You start by strapping a 5ft protective bubble over your head and torso and then basically run full pelt at your mates and knock them over like skittles (depending on who’s got the best momentum!). Somewhere in between there’s a real sized football that you may or may not want to kick toward’s the opponents’ goal, during this epic game of human dodgems. At just €25 pp, this is about as much fun per euro as is possible anywhere in the universe. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to reserve your spots.
Grab an oar amigo, and prepare to paddle your way in a kayak over the emerald and blue waters of the Mediterranean sea. You’ll navigate the breathtaking coastline of the Costa Brava (translation: wild coast!) with crystal clear waters and beautiful private beaches and coves. In fact you’ll even paddle directly into a cave, where you can go snorkelling. A great hangover-busting mix of adventure, exercise and scenery that you can’t do in many other cities. The transport up the coast (the activity is about an hour’s drive away) leaves at a very reasonable hour of noon, so there’s plenty of time to get up and have breakfast beforehand even if you were out the night before. The day lasts 6 hours in total and costs €65 pp. Email email@example.com more.
The global trend of escape games has reached the Catalan capital and those wanting to pit their wits against a myriad of tricky puzzles and conundrums – all against the clock – will relish the challenge of an escape room. There are some sick storylines in Barcelona, such as infiltrating secret societies and trying to navigate your way out of a stranger’s flat the day after a party (think the movie Hangover) and more cerebral stag groups are likely to enjoy this option. Whilst the average room fits just 6-8 people at a time, check our article by following the link above and you’ll find a couple of places where two groups of 8-9 can go head to head in the same challenge, allowing for 16-18 participants.
Walking tours don’t tend to work well for restless groups of lads, but put your mates on a bike and they will be more than happy to pootle around town and take some photos of the sights, whilst getting the lowdown on the city from a young local guide. Steel Donkeys are (in our opinion) the best provider in town, with a focus on the funky and the alternative attractions. They offer private tours to groups of four and above for the same price as a regular departure. And by going private you can also set your own departure time, and absolutely insist on being taken to the topless beaches… your guide will know a great bar overlooking the sea for a refreshing jug of sangria or mojito on the way home. Click the link above for more info.
Exclusive to Barcelona, The Spain Games are a set of 10 challenging TV game show style obstacles and competitions sure to put you and your mates through their paces. Classic games like wipe out, gladiator podium fighting, sumo suit wrestling, swimming pool beam runs and more are all given a uniquely Spanish touch and take place in a spanking new activity centre just outside the city, complete with bar and BBQ facilities. A round of the games on offer takes 3.5 hrs and costs €39 pp, whilst our partner’s ace team can also provide return transport to the city centre for an extra €18 pp, or you can grab taxis. Check out this video for a preview, or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
Recommended Party / Night Activities
A good old-fashioned pub crawl is never a bad idea, but how about going the extra mile and signing up for one of the city’s most celebrated nights out… all tried, tested and approved. Pasalo bien!
Steak Dinner with Stripper
Fancy a lovely and delicious piece of rump for supper? And what about ordering a nice steak too? Turn the testosterone up to 11 on your stag do with this red blooded evening activity that is sure to get the mouth watering. The action takes place in a high class restaurant with a private room booked for the “main dish”. The price of €55 pp includes steak dinner, first round of drinks, strip show, plus VIP entry into a club later at night. If any of your group is a
hippy vegetarian, there are also great veggie options for the meal. Email email@example.com with any questions or to reserve your spots.
New safety regulations means these are not quite as wild as they used to be, but this trip out to sea with up to 80 other party animals could never be totally tamed and is a good option if interacting with other (bikini-clad) hedonists is high on your agenda. There’s a chance to swim, have a few beers (obviously) and pull some moves, whilst after you’ll get free entry into one of the better clubs on the harbour. Departures are mostly during weekends, and some of the three-hour parties that leave during the day also feature a BBQ. Follow the link above for full details and online booking links. Spaces go fast.
Another good option if mingling is high on your agenda, as this whirlwind tour of some of the city’s best nightlife options is popular with the fairer sex, who love to get dressed up for this night out which ends in the famous Opium Mar beachclub. You’ll travel by coach around the city, for a glass of Cava on the mountains to dancing by the sea. As best man you’ll appreciate the fact that the itinerary is a) great and b) already decided, so no annoying arguments… just drinking time! Email us on firstname.lastname@example.org with your dates and group size and you’ll hear back within 24 hours.
For those that want to enjoy an in-house camaraderie, it doesn’t get more private than a magnum of champagne inside a stretched limo… especially when one of Barcelona’s best looking citizens is treating you to a close up view of something way more interesting than La Sagrada Familia! Once the show is over your chauffeur will drop you at your club of choice, with a VIP card that ensures no-hassles free entry. Email email@example.com with any questions or to make a reservation.
If you’re a bit bewildered by all the options possible for your Barcelona stag weekend and don’t know who to call then just drop us a line with your arrival and departure dates, group size and any special requests. We’ll get a stag party know-it-all on the case who can do everything for you, from booking suitable accommodation, organising airport transfers, activities and parties. Basically do all the work that you, as best man, are supposed to do! (Don’t worry we’ll still let you take the credit).
