Why Barcelona for a Hen Do?

Looking for the perfect place to celebrate yours, or your best friend’s, hen weekend? Then you can stop the search right now.

With its gorgeous weather, long stretches of sandy beachesworld class shopping, luxury spas, scintillating nightlife and an abundance of tanned, toned, Mediterranean playboys, Barcelona has got all the ingredients of a perfect hen party abroad.

The perfect city for a bachelorette party!

If the latter sounds like you, I can definitely recommend this VIP nightlife tour, which includes guestlist to Opium Mar!).

Day Activities

1. Paella Cooking Class (from €65 p.p.)

During this fun private cooking class you learn how to cook Spain’s most iconic dish, start to finish. And we really do mean start to finish, because to begin with you get a guided tour of Barcelona’s legendary Boqueria food market where you shop for the ingredients that you need to make the perfect paella. After that your expert chef will help you rustle up a rice dish worthy of the name, all paired with Spanish wines or sangria. Prices start at €79 per person for 4-10 people, and €65 per person for groups of 11 or more. Great value if you consider that you’re also saving the expense of lunch or dinner in restaurant! The event takes place in a cosy and cool wine bodega, where your hosts will teach you the swashbuckling technique of opening a Champagne bottle with a sword. The technique creates a clean cut in the glass and it’s perfectly safe to pour the Cava out afterwards and drink it. Email info@barcelona-life.com for availability.

5. Inflatable Games (€39 p.p.)

For a zany and truly memorable hen do, look no further than this riotous activity that takes place on the grounds of a castle just outside Barcelona. 12. Nude Life Drawing Class (€39 p.p.)

No sniggering now, the male form is a beautiful thing… at least the specimen that you’ll be sketching during this intimate art class, which gives you the chance to turn the tables in the battle of the sexes and ogle and objectify a man for a change. All in the name of art of course. This private class lasts one hour and includes an art instructor and glass of Cava. The class costs €39 per person, for groups of 8 people or more (smaller groups can pay a surplus). Email info@barcelona-life.com for more info.

Evening Activities

Here are some ideas for what to do at night during your hen do…

13. Sunset Boat Party (€55 p.p.)

As mentioned, Barcelona boat parties set sail day and night during summer, with the Original Boat Party offering the chance to party as the sun sets over the Mediterranean sea. Live DJs, and unlimited beers and sangria, means good times are all but guaranteed, while it’s easy to continue the party on dry land… you’re right next to all the beach clubs on the Port Olimpic. These parties have limited capacity and tend to sell out, so best book your tickets in advance, directly with the organisers.

14. Sunset Rooftop Wine Tasting (€45 p.p.)

For an unforgettable “wine party” look no further than this rooftop tasting session that takes place in the centre of Barcelona. You will gaze over the city skyline at sunset, while sipping no less than 7 choice vintages from the nearby Penedes and Priorat regions, in the company of your friends and a knowledgeable, but down-to-earth, wine instructor. The perfect start to the evening, expect to leave in good spirits! Groups of 9 or smaller can book online (the public event takes place every Weds to Sunday), while groups of 10 or more can request a private wine party. Email us info@barcelona-life.com for more details on this highly Instagrammable activity. We’ll get right back!

Wine Party Upgrades!

– Wine & Salsa Class (€55 p.p.)

Combine wine tasting on a rooftop with a steamy salsa session with a professional instructor. Four delicious local wines will loosen the hips for your dance class, which comes with epic views, light tapas and free entry to a salsa club later at night. Email us on info@barcelona-life.com for availability.

– Wine & Painting (€49 p.p.)

What could be more sophisticated than sipping Spanish wines with the sunset, before whipping out your paintbrushes to indulge your creative side? This fun group activity is perfect for a laidback hen do. Email us on info@barcelona-life.com for availability.

15. Flamenco & Tapas Evening (€52 p.p.)

Two great traditions in one night, during this fun evening you get to see a top flamenco show in one of Barcelona’s best known tablaos, before enjoying a generous selection of classic tapas dishes that the country is famous for, served up with a plenty of homemade Spanish sangria. In other words, instead of going for a normal, boring restaurant meal, spend the same amount on this activity and get a fantastic flamenco show thrown into the deal! The show lasts about 30-40 minutes, which is about perfect for larger groups as no one will get fidgety. One of our most popular activities, email us on info@barcelona-life.com to check availability.

16. Chill Out at Ice Barcelona (€34.5 p.p.)

The world’s only Ice Bar on a beach, a trip to this venue’s sub-zero ice chamber is a fun way to cool off in Barcelona by night. Don’t worry about getting cold though as they provide jacket and gloves, and you can also head onto their balmy beach terrace for a cocktail instead. Currently they are offering a special hen party pack designed for ten people which includes 10 x Ice Barcelona experience with drink, 10 x mixed drink, plus table reservation, 2 bottles of Cava, fresh fruit and chocolate and gift for the bachelorette herself. Total cost €345. Head to their website.

17. Cheeky Butler & Tapas (€49 p.p.)

What’s better than Spanish cuisine? Spanish cuisine prepared by a local chef and served up by Gael García Bernal’s buffer little brother (…at least he told us they’re related). That’s right, your delicious tapas meal will be dished up by quite a dish himself, and it’s hard to say which is yummier. This activity takes place in your apartment, and as well as the chef and cheeky butler, included in the package (so to speak) are some party games and free Cava for all. Alternatively, for just a handful more euros, switch the butler for a stripper. Get in contact via info@barcelona-life.com and we’ll get things organised for you.

18. VIP Nightlife Tour (€54.95 p.p.)

As highlighted earlier on this page, this nightlife tour comes with the Barcelona Life seal of approval and combines drinking Cava with night time views over the city with partying until dawn at the most famous address in town… Opium Beach Club. The tour runs every Friday and Saturday from March to October, but has limited places, so it’s best to book in advance. Check the link for more info, or go right ahead and email us on info@barcelona-life.com with your group size and preferred dates. The price is €54.95 pp and includes VIP entry to Opium and several complementary drinks.

19. VIP Limo Club Tour (from €55 p.p.)

For a more exclusive party vibe why not splash out on your private limousine to take you cruising around the city like the international jet-setting divas that you are. The tour includes VIP entry into one of the hottest nightclubs in the city, whilst as much Champagne, spirits and soda as you can drink from the mini-bar are all included in the price (yes, this is essentially an exclusive happy hour!). Check the link for more info, or simply email us on info@barcelona-life.com with your group size and preferred dates.

20. VIP Table Bookings (from €50 p.p.)

Barcelona’s nightlife is deservedly legendary, but like any major city it pays to prepare in advance to avoid the headache of being stuck outside a club or trying to negotiate with a bouncer in your best Spanish. The simplest solution to skip the queues is to reserve a VIP table at your venue of choice, whether that’s Opium, Pacha, CDLC or Sutton. The good news is that it’s not that expensive either. Often the price of the table is just a minimum drinks spend, and so for €50 a person you will get guaranteed entry, a table in the VIP zone, and €50 of credit at the bar. Drop us a line on info@barcelona-life.comand our nightlife partners will do the rest.

21. Silent Disco (from €7 p.p.)

No need to head out with this activity… you are the party! Rent a pack of ‘silent disco’ headphones and you can have your own private party wherever you go… the beach, the park, the streets, or even around your hotel’s swimming pool. You won’t be bothering anyone, although you might raise a few wry smiles from passers-by as you dance to music only you and your friends can hear! Take turns to be the DJ by connecting your phones via Bluetooth, and let your hen do be accompanied by banging tunes, start to finish. Just €69 per set of 10 headphones, email info@barcelona-life.com. Our partners can deliver to most locations in the city.

Brrrrring… brrrring! Prefer us to call you?

Sometimes it’s easier to get things organised over the phone! Leave your number when you email us, and a preferred time to call, and we’ll be glad to get in touch.

    Hi there,

    I’m organising a hen for 12 girls in Barcelona 3 & 4rd of May.

We are interested in the following
    – Pole dancing or Flamenco dance class
    – Sunset roof wine tasting
    – Club night on the Saturday (preferably a nicer club)

Also, do you have any Sound Bath sessions or know any good ones in the area? We’ll stay at the Catalonia Barcelona plaza so activities no longer than 45 minutes from the hotel with transport would be ideal.

Would it be possible to get more information on these and maybe some more pictures so we can see that it fits what we’re after?

    All the best,

    Johnny
