we're on

KER is a new concept club created by the Arnau Family (responsible for Monegros Desert Festival, Elrow Barcelona & Ibiza and Florida135). The 1200 capacity venue comprises of two spaces: the main room with the dance floor, and a second smaller room for 250 people, that functions as a cocktail bar. The main room showcases top techno and house artists such as Laurent Garnier, Maceo Plex, DJ Harvey, Solomon, Art Department or Kerri Chandler, while the cocktail bar has a softer and funkier tone and showcases local talents. KER is dedicated to electronic music lovers, and aims to recreate the warm and cosy environment that defined club culture in the 70s and 80s. Not content with partying on Friday and Saturday night? On Sundays KER club hosts the legendary Elrow Sunday parties, which began in 2010 during Sonar week and have since become the mother of all mash ups in Barcelona. With a mix of house and techno, the Elrow sound has established itself as a fresh and festive alternative to mainstream dance music thanks to guests artists such as Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Seth Troxler, Richie Hawtin or Luciano. This experiential party focuses on developing a fantastic atmosphere, often with surprises (themes, decorations and special performances) and prides itself on a no pretences, one-big-family vibe. Find the venue close to Plaza Espaņa, nearest Metro Tarragona.

This used to be Space, and in fact has changed brands a few times. It's a big fairly basic space with a backroom... went to see Art Department on Friday. Tickets on the door were 20 euros (with a drink included) but you could get advanced tickets for less! Staff were pretty cool, crowd not bad with some friendly people from Barcelona but also plenty of internationals. Back room DJ played great stuff, but Art Department were a bit bland for me. Will come back when I see a good DJ. Have since heard that the El Row parties on Sundays are the best, with the best crowd. Stayed til the end so a good night, but good have been enhanced by more main innovative DJ set.
