Deep Sea Fishing email

Do battle with the marine life of the Mediterranean in this Barcelona deep sea fishing experience, that pits you in a fair fight with some of the fastest fins in the West. You'll charter a skippered boat for the day from a nearby marina, and sail out into deep waters (between 60 and 200m) several nautical miles from the coast, before weighing anchor and casting your hook out to sea. With some expert guidance you've got a genuine chance of reeling in garfish, hake, sea bass and even tuna (if you select boat 5 and the high seas option). And if you don't get lucky you can always practice those fishermen's tales on the way back to Barcelona! Overall the activity offers a fantastic day out full of camaraderie, Spanish sunshine, the majesty of the ocean, cold beers and the chance to spot whales, dolphins and turtles swimming in the surf - and one of the highlights will be cooking the fish you catch afterwards at a local Catalan Restaurant. The experience is suitable for both novices and expert fishers, and includes licenses, rods, live bait and all the equipment you need for trolling, ground-fishing and spinning (three different techniques you'll get to try). Check below more info on the boats on offer and the prices. We're confident these are the best value angling experiences on offer on the Costa Brava. The activity is available virtually year-round thanks to the great local weather, and the captain(s) speaks English, German, French and Spanish. In all cases, simply email us on to book or to request more info.

Boat 1: The Ramfel
Capacity: 2 to 8 people
Port: Arenys de Mar
The best value for money boat out there, with a passionate multi-lingual captain, the Ramfel fits 6 anglers and up to 8 people in total. (Two can relax on the large sun deck out front at any one time). With powerful engines reaching up to 25 knots you will able to go up to 12 miles off coast. You can get to the picturesque town of Arenys de Mar easily by train... enquire for info and directions.
Cost: €450 for 1-3 people, €650 for 4 people, €850 for 5 to 8 people.

Boat 2: La Marinada
Capacity: Up to 18 people
Port: Arenys de Mar
This is a longboat for coastal fishing only, but perfect for stag groups thanks to its large size. Up to ten can fish at one time, whilst the rest can have a beer or a swim. For a taste of angling in a fun environment, on a very affordable boat, look no further.
Cost: €650

Boat 3: Es Cau
Capacity: 1 to 10 people
Port: Barcelona Forum
A beautiful fishing boat in the Menorquin style, the Es Cau is not as fast as the Ramfel, so you will probably only be fishing two miles from the coast, but on the plus side is docked at Barcelona's Port Forum, and can be easily reached by metro.
Cost: €850

Due to the limited spaces and popular nature of this activity advanced booking is best advised to avoid missing out. We are currently accepting reservations for the whole of the 2016 season. If you are not sure about which boat suits your group best just drop us a line on and we'll give you honest and practical advice for your party, usually within 24 hours.

Deep Sea Fishing

Just heard that charters are already possible this January 2016 due to the warm winter weather and water temperatures!

We had a wonderful experience deep fishing and we can truly recommend this adventure to any one who loves the sea and fishing. We also had our fish cooked at a nearby restaurant afterwards, which was nice.

The boat/captain and Kurt were great, but unfortunately we didn’t catch the big fish. We got plenty of small red fish but max 20cm size. So we didn’t have much luck. If we come to Barcelona region again, we would try again!

Great sports fishing and not badly priced if you go in a group

I did this last year with two buddies from New York. It felt like a great adventure at the time and we were just reminiscing about it a couple of days back (especially the huge tuna that got away!). We're thinking about coming back in September... will the weather still be great? It was perfect in April last year.

Awesome. We wanted to do something a bit different, and dare I say it, classier, for our Barcelona stag weekend so I chose deep sea fishing. I was a bit nervous that some of the other guys might not like it but was amazing day out and something I'm sure we'll talk about for years to come. We did actually manage to hook a decent-sized tuna fish, which was more than I was expecting... that gave us a real rush I must say.
