At Barcelona Life we've teamed up with one of the city's most stylish tour providers to deliver a range of unforgettable Ferrari driving experiences, many of them right here in the centre of the city. We'll put you behind the steering wheel of the sublime and sexy Ferrari California convertible, and - with a little help from an instructor - you'll take a tour of the amazing Catalan capital, taking in the city beaches, Gaudi's magnificent masterpieces, the old Montjuic F1 race track or the awesome Tibidabo mountain (depending on which option you choose... 20, 40 or 90 minute tours!). And if you really want to go for broke we can also organise a half or full day of driving supercars along the winding country roads of the picturesque Catalan countryside with coastal views and winery visits, or - for speed addicts - a racing experience at the F1 Catalunya Circuit used in the Spanish Grand Prix. Keep reading for more info on all available options and advice on how to book...

1#. Beach Cruise (20 mins / 88)

If you're simply curious about what 460 horsepower feels like then this 20 minute tour of the Barceloneta district is the perfect chance to find out - whilst doing some serious posing in your Ferrari California convertible as you cruise past the city beaches and their bikini-clad denizens. At 88 (plus 29 for insurance) this is an incredibly affordable introduction to the world of supercars. Email to reserve: info@barcelona-life.com

2#. Gaudi Tour (40 mins / 169)

Check out the magnificent works of architect Antoni Gaudi in a magnificent machine. La Sagrada Familia is undeniably the city's most iconic building, and on this 40 minute route you'll cruise in the shadows of its famous spires, before making your way down the epic Passeig de Gracia boulevard... Barcelona's very own Champs-Elysees where the bold and the beautiful stroll by on a daily basis. All eyes will be on you as you roll past Gaudi's other greats, the Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. 169 (plus insurance). Email to reserve: info@barcelona-life.com

3#. Montjuic & Old F1 Circuit (40 mins / 169)

If you want to rev up the engine a bit and test the 0-100 kph in 3.1 seconds capabilities of your Italian red stallion, then this option is highly recommended. Montjuic is the coastal hill not far from the centre of town. Not only is it full of cultural treasures - you'll pass the Olympic Stadium, Magic Fountain and Joan Miro Foundation to name but a few - but its winding roads were once the track for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix (from 1969-75), and there's a chance to both practice your cornering and apply the accelerator. Like the Gaudi tour this is a 40 minute experience for 169 (plus insurance). Email to reserve: info@barcelona-life.com

4#. Tibidabo Mountain & Views (90 mins / 349)

Your 4.3 litre V8 engine will come in handy when you climb 512 metres above sea level to reach the top of Tibidabo, part of the Collserola mountain range that flanks the west side of Barcelona. Curving tree-lined roads make for an amazing driving, and the iconic attraction park at the summit was featured in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. From here, under the Church of the Sacred Heart, you'll be able to see over literally the entire city at out over the Mediterranean sea. Epic stuff! This 90 minute experience costs 349 (plus insurance). Email to reserve: info@barcelona-life.com

5#. Country Roads (4-6 hours, from 799)

Supercar aficionados with a bit more time (and money) on their hands, might want to consider a country roads route. We can offer driving routes that take you to the sacred Montserrat mountain, the picturesque Penedes vineyards or the sexy seaside resort of Sitges... stopping for a Michelin-starred lunch on the way, or at a 17th century winery and vineyard. For this premium experience you can choose from a range of sports cars like the Lamborghini Huracan, McClaren 650s, Maserati Grancabrio or Ferrari Spider, with prices starting from 799 for a Porsche 911 Cabrio going up to 1499 for the aforementioned Huracan. Email info@barcelona-life.com for more details.

6#. Formula 1 Racing Track (from 549)

For serious speedsters we can also help organise racing experiences with a professional instructor around the Circuit de Catalunya, the official track of the Spanish Grand Prix (which is just outside Barcelona in Montmelo). Don your safety helmet, buckle you seatbelt and make like Lewis Hamilton as you test the full potential of your machine's engine. Email info@barcelona-life.com with your preferred dates and we'll get back to you. Usually there's a minimum of 4 people required to book this activity, but email us to check availability.

7#. Ferrari Combo Packages (from 99)

Want to really pull the stops out for your Barcelona break? How about combining a spin in the red beast with a helicopter ride over the city... Bond would be proud! (Prices start at 159 for 20 mins in the Ferrari and 10 min helicopter ride). Or, something a bit more romantic, a driving experience combined with a scenic sailing trip out onto the Mediterranean (prices start at 99 for 20 mins ride plus 90 mins under sail). Email info@barcelona-life.com for more!

Not sure what to choose? Got a question? In all cases just email us on info@barcelona-life.com and we'll get back to you ASAP! Participants must be 21yrs or over, and hold a full driver's license for two years and we'd recommend getting the insurance upgrade. Additional drivers and passengers can also be added to each experience for an additional cost.

Ferrari Driving

I took a ride with a friend on the Montjuic option which follows some of the old F1 Circuit from the early 70s. It's a really nice scenic route and our instructor encouraged us to hit the accelerator once or twice (revving the engines under a bridge was also fun). The California is a beast and handled well. Naturally we got a lot of attention from locals and fellow tourists we passed! Overall I was glad we forked out extra for the 40 minutes over the 20 minutes, as obviously it was good to enjoy the experience for longer and get familiar and relaxed with the car. Thinking about getting this as a present for my Dad when he goes to visit BCN!

I selected the country roads option and did not regret it. The drive could last longer in my opinion but it was still worth it.

Highly enjoyable and let rip on the open road. The acceleration was scary!

Hello Marie. Peter says that he had an experience of a lifetime and enjoyed it very much. Kind regards to Manuel for his professional assistance. All in all we are happy that we ordered the driving experience through you guys! All the best, Lene and Peter.

We went out in a classic Ferrari to rural Catalonia. I felt like James Bond winding my way through the roads. A real thrill, I only wish it could have lasted longer!

I can't believe I got to drive on the same track as Button, Hamilton, Alonso etc. It shouldn't be legal really, especially at the speed I was going - bearing in mind I am no Schumacher! Worth every euro! I might even have another crack next year.

My wife treated me to this experience for my 40th birthday - because let's face it I haven't got the money for a midlife crisis! I can honestly say it was the best present I ever received. I'm thinking of getting her cooking lessons for her 40th to thank her.
