A sailing trip is a great activity for a family or groups of friends, and the good news is there’s no shortage of sailing yachts to rent in Barcelona for up to 11 people, as well as small and luxury motor boats if you prefer. Just check our list below your options.

Larger Boats (12 to 125 people)

If you need a larger vessel for a private boat party, wedding celebration, a birthday bash, or a team building event, there are also some great options available. Most nautical events in Barcelona take place on catamarans because they are large, stable, and offer open spaces to both around or laze on ‘solarium’ nettings and sun decks.

12 Different Boats For Hire

Organised in order of size, starting with the smallest first for a quick jaunt on the sea, to the largest 125 people catamarans for team events, wedding parties and other private celebrations.

1. License-Free Motor Boat (5 people)

This small craft is perfect for a casual jaunt onto the ocean, as you can rent it from 1 to 4 hours, and you can drive it yourself without a license. The boat fits up to five people and is docked at Port Olimpic. It is powered by a 15 HP Yamaha outboard motor. You can reserve it easily online via Barcelona Turisme, the official Barcelona tourist board. No bathroom on board, so if you’re travelling with young children just book an hour or two.

2. Sporty Sailing Yacht (7 people)

This sporty little 8-metre long vessel is lightweight and manoeuvrable and fits up to 7 passengers. It sits quite low in the water and you’ll feel the waves a bit, given it’s small size. 4. Leisure Sailing Yacht (9 people)

This size craft is perfect for a large family looking for a private sailing trip. There’s plenty of space above and below deck and on warmer days it’s easy to jump off the back and have a swim. There’s a stereo, refrigerator and bathroom on board, and complimentary Cava, soft drinks and snacks included in the price.

5. Premium Sailing Yacht (11 people)

For larger groups this gorgeous 12 metre yacht is the perfect vessel for a sally out onto the Mediterranean. Apart from being a magnificent beast to look at, it is also very comfortable to charter with a spacious cockpit, well-designed interior and plenty of room to sunbathe at the front of the boat. Included in the price are snacks, two drinks per passenger and a bottle of Cava. For stag and hen parties planning on a bit of sesh, you are welcome to bring more of your own booze. 6. Luxury Motor Yacht (11 people)

For a taste of the high life set out on the Mediterranean on this bling machine. It’s gorgeous interior is nicer than most luxury apartments, and there’s multiple sun decks for lounging on as you drink Cava from iced buckets. There’s complimentary drinks, snacks and towels, although you can bring more booze if you want to make a party out of the day. You can also play your own music on the quality sound system. 7. Sailing Catamaran (28 people)

Perfect for all types of small private events, such as stag parties, hen dos or birthday celebrations, this 28 person catamaran allows plenty of space to mingle on a very stable boat, lounge in the sun on the front nettings, or take a dip in the sea. It has a great sound system, WIFI and a tablet loaded with Spotify Premium, so you play your favourite tunes. Inflatable toys, snorkels and even BBQ facilities ensure a good time is had by all. There are some free drinks and snacks included, but you are welcome to bring your own booze and food (otherwise you can choose from a number of catering options). The prices is calculated per person, based on a minimum group size of 16 people at the weekends (and 10 people during the week). 8. Royal Sailing Yacht (65 people)

Wow your guests by welcoming them on board this classic sail boat, commissioned by the British royal family in the 1960s, and since owned by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. With a capacity of up to 65 people (or 80 when docked), this gorgeous vessel is the ideal venue for a wedding celebration, team building or incentive event. The interior with its ‘bow lounge’ fitted out with dining table and floor rugs is fit for a Queen, quite literally, and on deck guests can take advantage of the ship’s solarium. 9. Sailing Catamaran (78 people)

A great option for a larger event, this twin-hulled sailing yacht has all the facilities you need for an epic party, including top quality sound system, bar, BBQ, large solarium, inflatables for playing in the water, and separate toilets for men and women. There’s a host of catering options to choose from, and some other fun options to consider for an unforgettable event: including live DJ, live band or “golf fishing” where you drive an eco-friendly golf ball into the water. 10. Sailing Catamaran (100 people)

This stylish catamaran has plenty of seating room and a large sun deck, and includes all the facilities of the other large catamarans. If you want to make your event extra special you add gin tasting, cocktail classes, wine tasting and a relaxing massage service for your guests. Naturally there are plenty of different catering options too, from snacks to a full Spanish buffet.

An even bigger boat! The prices of the 115 and 125 people catamarans mean are more economical at the three hour rental point…. see prices below. For corporate events or weddings, why not add a tradition Spanish ham slicer and tasting session for €320.

12. Sailing Catamaran (125 people)

Sailing for Large Groups

There are no individual boats for groups larger than 125 people in Barcelona, but there are a couple of fun options for that corporate team (of up to 400 people!) that is keen to get in the water….

Sailing Regatta (up to 400 people)

If you’re hosting an event for more than 125 people it will be hard to get them on one boat… that’s when a sailing regatta could be a better option. During this sporting challenge up to 400 people can take part, racing against each other on small boats of up to 8 people plus skipper. The activity is a really great way to challenge your colleagues in a new environment, and really test their team working and communication capabilities. Multinationals such as Pepsi, Mars, Zurich, Unilever, DHL and Swarovski have all booked this very event for their staff in recent years. Group Sailing Tour (up to 400 people)

Another option for a large groups is a 3-hour sailing tour on multiple boats. This is similar to the regatta (above) but without the competitive element, so a good reward for a team that has already proven their credentials! Guests will be given the chance to sunbathe, relax with a glass of Cava, swim (during summer) and steer the ship. As there are less logistics involved, it’s also cheaper to run (and to book).
