Hotel California

Stylish, central and reasonably priced, it’s hard to go wrong with this gay-friendly budget hotel in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter (don’t worry it’s hetero-friendly too!). Hotel California’s large comfy beds, over-sized bathtubs, smart plasma TVs and tasteful decor provide all the home comforts you need… and whilst there are no mirrors on the ceiling you can certainly order some pink champagne on ice.

Cava is one of the favourite drinks in Barcelona! Location-wise it really doesn’t get any better than this, as you’re right next to Plaza Real and a host of great bars and restaurants.

From here the city is your oyster. Perhaps the only downside of a stay at the Hotel California is the inevitability of singing The Eagles to yourself for the duration of your stay. Still it’s such a lovely place…
