Royal Ramblas Hotel

|
If you've come to Barcelona for the architecture you might want to close your eyes as you approach the Royal Ramblas - it's a basically a vast linear block suspended over the thoroughfare with Hotel Royal written in golden lettering. Despite being somewhat aesthetically-challenged, the hotel remains a great choice of accommodation for anyone who simply demands to be in the thick of it, right here on Las Ramblas - Barcelona's most famous avenue. The bustle is non-stop, even past midnight, but thanks to air-con (summer only) and soundproofing you needn't shy away from a street-side room. In fact, we'd go further and demand one. Interiors are tastefully decorated and comfortable and the service is worthy of its four stars. Thanks to the hotel's progressive marketing team you can even follow the fortunes of Royal Ramblas on Twitter... |

You pay a bit of premium to be on La Rambla but it's well worth it to be on this vibrant avenue, one of the greatest streets in Europe. The Royal was everything you'd expect from a four star hotel and I'd return in an instant... if only my boss would let me.
