Maremagnum

|
A shopping centre on the sea, Maremagnum was an exciting part of the project to rennovate Barcelona's port in the early 1990s. The attractive modern building is a favourite with tourists in particular who enjoy a sea-breeze stroll before stopping off at the 35 stores to bolster their wardrobe. Calvin Klein, Desigual, Mango and H&M are amongst the shops trading in the mall, and whereas the centre also had a reputation as a hot nightlife centre in the early 00s that is no longer case. Still for shopping Maremagnum is well worth a browse and, unlike most of Barcelona's malls, it is open on Sundays. Nota bene: although the name Maremagnum technically refers to the shopping centre, the term is used more generally to signify the area around it, which includes Barcelona's Aquarium and the IMAX cinema. |
