Barcelona got a huge makeover in the late 80s and early 90s to prepare for the 1992 Summer Olympics. One of the places that received a touch-up during the process was the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium on Montjuic hill, which was originally built for the 1929 International Exposition, with hopes of being used for the 1936 Olympics (they went to Berlin instead). The stadium fell into disuse by the 1970s, so it was gutted and given new grandstands in 1989. Today, it holds both sporting events and concerts, and you can also visit the Museu Olimpic i de l'Esport (the Olympic and Sport Museum) across the street.
Great concert venue. Saw Muse play here in 2014 I think. Awesome atmosphere, amazing show. The best place to see the big bands in BCN
