There are plenty of great options for day trips out of Barcelona, whether you prefer hiking up mountains, visiting museums, drinking fine wines or lazing on beaches... the problem is trying to fit them all into one holiday. This fantastic day tour solves a great dilemma by delivering you to not one, not two, but three fantastic destinations within driving distance from the Catalan capital. You're start by ascending the spectacular jagged rocks of the sacred Montserrat Mountain, where you'll get to explore the medieval monastery which houses the famous La Escolania holy choir and Black Madonna relic. The views over Catalonia are absolutely breathtaking. Then it's onto something a little more epicurean, as you are driven to the nearby Torres winery, founded in 1870, where you can tour the vineyards and cellars and of course indulge in a little wine tasting. You'll finish the day by driving to Sitges, one of Spain's most attractive coastal resorts with 17 blue flag beaches and a Bohemian atmosphere that charmed the famous artists of the Modernista era. If it's warm enough you'll be able to take a dip in the sea! This fantastic day out is a snip at 59 euros per person, and includes all transport (via minibus) and entrance fees. The tour departs at 11am every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from the centre of Barcelona. Limited spaces each day so get in touch via email to reserve your spot(s).
Fantastic day out... it's hard to say which aspect of the trip was the most enjoyable as they were all so good. In an ideal world I'd like to spend more time in each of the three places, because they each deserve it, but I'm really glad to have seen them all and not missed out, which we would have done otherwise
