Spain Fighting for British Tourists

Britain has been one of the hardest hit in the economic crisis, and the knock on effect has been that less of the green stuff is now arriving in Spain... Brits make up a whopping 25% of all visitors to Spain but with money tight many of the Queen's loyal subjects are choosing to holiday in cheaper destinations such as Turkey and Egypt.

Spanish Tourist Office executive Ignacio Vasallo is taking action however: "The UK market is 25 per cent of our tourism so supporting the industry is vital." The country is now planning to go on a marketing spree over 2 million euros to help sell thousands of unsold hoiday packages at cut-prices.
