Police Getting High At Work
According to Barcelona Reporter, Barcelona's police force been getting high on the job - and not only that but they've had the gumption to grumble about it too!
Apparently officers in the police station in Sabadell are getting fed up of the fumes of the large stash of marijuana and hashish that has been confiscated and is kept in a small room on the fourth floor of the building, which is open 24 hours throughout the year for "the receipt and storage of substances. Sometimes there can be hundreds of kilos of hashish giving off its pungent aroma, in which people have to work".
The union of police workers has issued a statement demanding protection the officers whose health and productivity they contend is being jeopardised, arguing that for a minimum of 7 hours and 30 minutes have to continually suffer a ‘buzz’ from the fumes of these illegal drugs and that Interior Department should find another location for the seized substances "within the 84,000 square feet of the complex".
In the meantime, in the interests of public safety, Barcelona Life would like to announce that they have a spare cabinet at the back of their office if the police would like to keep any there...
