Messi Runs Riots

After giving Arsenal a demonstration of near perfect football for 70 minutes at the Emirates last week, FC Barcelona had unaccountably let their hosts back in the match by conceding two goals and receiving one red card... on the 18th minute of the return leg it looked like they might pay for their generosity when their tormentor in chief Theo Walcott, burst past their defence and set up Bendtner for the opener.

It took just two minutes for Barcelona to respond however, when Messi unleashed an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area to bring the scores to 1-1. After that the game turned into little more than a one-man show as the Argentine magician lit up Camp Nou scoring two more goals in the first half and burying the game with his fourth of the match deep into the second. The final score 4-1, and 6-3 on aggregate.

Arsenal return home to lick their wounds, whilst Barcelona march on to the semi-finals with high expectations. With Messi in this sort of form, who would bet against them lifting the European Cup again in 2010?
