MNAC Celebrates 75 Years

The National Museum of Catalan Art (MNAC) celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2010 with an exhibition entitled 'Guests of Honour', which will showcase the works of Catalonia's finest artists throughout the ages. 75 pieces, one for each of the museum's years, have been borrowed from private collections from around the world, and their sum will chronicle the region's artistic development from medieval sculpture through to Cubism.

Amongst the pieces in this very special collection will be the Gothic altarpiece of the Virgin of L'Escala by Joan Antigó, Mediterranean by Aristides Maillol and The Farmer's Wife by Joan Miró. 'Guests of Honour' will run at the MNAC until 11st of April 2010 and is free to enter.
