New Nightlife Options For Barcelona
Whilst sipping cervezas on terrazzas, beach life and al fresco festivals are a thing of the past, now that winter has truly rolled around, another aspect of the city is awakening. And if tourists keep the pubs and clubs busy during the summer season, Barcelona's nightlife goes a little more underground during the colder months. It's time to swap necking jugs of sangria on the beach with a bunch of international backpackers and delve into the city's hippest lounges and clubs for an authentic taste of how the locals party. On our feature-length article about nocturnal exploring you'll find a tonne of information on the best districts for going out - and the best venues - but, before you head over there, how about two fantastic new party options from two of our favourite hotspots...
Slow Cocktail Bar is renowned for shaking up some of the very best concoctions in the city, but with the launch of their new "Slow Disco" you're sure to find an even sexier party crowd to drink with every weekend. Let disco, synth disco, italodisco, Chicago house and jack house become the soundtrack of your friday and saturday nights with DJ collectives like House of Mars (Sat 7th) and Replicant Nights (Sat 14th) arriving to rock the party in December.
Meanwhile El Row... Barcelona's very own superclub in the southern limits of the city, is kicking off an amazing new series of Sunday parties called El Row City, in a more central location (ie. good for those travellers who get lost easily!). Mumbai Science, Pig & Dan and Jamie Jones are spinning on various Sundays in December, whilst there's also a special New Year's Day party headlined by none other than Ritchie Hawtin. (You'll find more info by following the above link through to their official website).
It just goes to show, the party's never over in Barcelona!
