Blur To Headline Primavera
Fresh from reforming for their fantastic performance at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, 90s Brit-pop icons Blur have been confirmed as the first headliner of the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona - as well as Porto - for 2013. It's great news for indie fans, who have found shows by the enigmatic English band hard to come by since 2000, when many of the members embarked on solo projects (most notably Albarn's animated dance-influenced Gorillaz band).
Whilst the rest of the Primavera line up for 2013 has yet to be announced, if recent years are anything to go by, anyone snapping up their tickets ahead of time is unlikely to be let down. The likes of The Cure, Pulp, Orbital, Justice and the XX all playing in the last couple of years. All of the ticketed action takes place in Parc del Forum, an urban landscaped park tailor-made for this type of event, on the northern city limits, whilst traditionally some free concerts also take place either side of the main roster in public places in downtown Barcelona.
