Barcelona Transfers: Keita Out, Alba In
As FC Barcelona prepare for another season gunning for glory, they will have to do without Seydou Keita their versatile Malian midfielder who announced today that he will be leaving the club. Despite winning 14 trophies in 4 years and being Pep Guardiola's first ever signing the African will be departing the club after a clause in his contract was activated... should he start less than half of Barca's matches in a season he can leave on a free transfer. Chinese side Dalian Aerbin are said to have made a move for his signature.
In the good news category however Jordi Alba put pen to paper for the Catalans, joining the club last week from Valencia, having played a key role in Spain's Euro 2012 victorious title defence. The left back cost a hefty 17.5 million euros, but his proven quality means that he is seen as a long term replacement for Eric Abidal, sadly still sidelined after being forced to undergo a liver transplant.
And in other Barca-related news, Andres Iniesta got married at the weekend to Anna Ortiz, just days after being voted best player at Euro 2012. So a great week for one of the team's most likeable players!
