One of Barcelona's most charming festivals, Sant Jordi's Day is a celebration of the dragon-slaying patron saint of Catalonia. On the 23rd April each year the entire length of La Rambla will erupt with flower stalls. Tradition states that men should purchase pretty petals for all the dainty damsels in their life, whilst said damsels are encouraged to pick out some character-building reading material for the special men in their lives. After all, Spain's legendary scribe, Miguel Cervantes died on this very day.
