La Laia - The Feast Days of Saint Eulalia

11/2/2012 - 12/2/2012

Santa Eulalia certainly deserves her matyrdom. The poor teenager - according to legend - was rolled in a barrel of knives down a hill for refusing to recant her Christianity. Her feast day is the 12th of February and on both the 11th and 12th a children's festival will be held in her honour celebrated with gegants (giants), castellers (human castles), sardanes, (Catalan dance), correfoc (fire-running) as well as live theatre, workshops, stories and puppet shows. The action normally centres around Placa Sant Jaume, so stroll on down with the kids and see what's happening.
