Barcelonians will go a long way for their favourite 'patatas bravas', which is lucky because El Tomas de Sarria, thought to have the best bravas in the city, is situated high above Diagonal Avenue in a quiet residential area of town far from the centre. This traditional-style Catalan bar is known throughout Barcelona for its chunky potato chips served with the delicious accompaniment of sweet and spicy sauce and mayonnaise... the kind of lip-smacking snack that is the arch-enemy of all diets! It's well worth making the journey to Sarria to visit El Tomas and join the friends and families tucking into these tasty tapas with a cold beer, in what is fast becoming a gastronomic pilgrimmage.

Great bar... but the best patatas bravas in BCN? Come on, who's really tried them all anyway? I'm giving them 8/10 and continuing my search...
