Taller de Tapas

Temple to tapas with seven locations

Taller de Tapas isn’t just one restaurant; they have seven locations spread around Barcelona sporting their sleek black and gold branding, including this one on the charming Placa Sant Josep Oriol (better known as the Placa del Pi, after the Basilica de Santa Maria Pi which dominates the square).

Their success is not an accident, and if you’re new to the world of Spanish tapas this is your chance to taste all of the classics the way they’re supposed to be made. Garlic king prawns, grilled calamari, aubergines with honey, chorizo and patatas bravas are unmissable staples of the menu. The prices are slightly ‘tourist-orientated’ but overall still good value for money, and they also do a mean paella if you can’t leave Barcelona without one.

Each location has different daily specials and their midday lunch menus are popular with locals. The kitchens are open from midday until 1 in the morning, so you’ll always be able to get a bite to eat.

The food was good, we were are large party and on a busy Friday night they managed to fit us in, among the party we had a vegetarian and a coeliac and the menu was well catered towards both. The service was friendly and efficient the three time we it was good value for money. We would have no problem in recommending it to people
