Considered by many the best restaurant in Barcelona, Cal Pep is a tapas bar that specialises in seafood so fresh you wouldn't be surprised to see it wriggle off your plate. Clams with hot peppers, tuna in sesame sauce and fried crispy prawns are just some of the delicacies that get regulars coming back for more - even if it means queuing for close to an hour just to get a stool by the bar. Once seated waiters, or even the magnanimous Pep himself, are likely to suggest dishes on your behalf, which most consider a great honour. Fun, friendly and a little frantic, a meal at Cal Pep is a quintessential Barcelona experience. |
