Fastvinic

From the same team that established Monvinic, one of the Barcelona's most famous restaurants and wine bars, comes an entirely new enterprise: Fastvinic is a living homage to that most simple but delicious dish - the sandwich. In Fastvinic's kitchen, chef Sergi de Meià devises exquisite snacks using only high quality, locally-sourced, organic products, fresh according to the season. The resulting creations are arguably Catalonia's finest sandwiches. Aside from bread-topped treats, Fastvinic also serves up salads made from ecological products, desserts made with pastries from Barcelona's best bakeries, and vintage Catalan wines. (The latter customers are invited to buy, believe it or not, via a vending machine). The emphasis on natural and environmentally-friendly products doesn't stop with the food, and the restaurant's forward-thinking design includes glasses, trays and more made from recycled material, which helped Fastvinic earn a LEED certificate (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Delicious. What a nice surprise. We didn't plan on going but happened to pass by and try our luck and we weren't disappointed!
