Casa Anita

|
The Casa Anita in Cadaques (just up the coast from Barcelona) is one of the few restaurants in the world where the epithet 'legendary' isn't a meaningless superlative. For over forty years the Marti family have served the fresh catch of the day to locals, tourists and celebrities alike - indeed Salvador Dali himself was a regular! Everyone is treated exactly the same - plonked on a communal table and told what they're eating for supper (there is no menu at Casa Anita!). In fact the ebullient owner will probably order your wines and desserts too... but don't worry, the prices are always a bargain for what you get. And if you're lucky the same stout fellow will show you his party trick: to pour wine from a 'porron' vessel onto his forehead and let it trickle into his mouth without spilling a drop... if you can do the same he will invite you to drink for free! (Warning you will actually just ruin your shirt). A meal at restaurant Casa Anita will be remembered for all the right reasons. |
