Betty Ford

Named after the Gerald Ford's one-time alcoholic missus, Betty Ford bar enjoys something of a cult status in these neck of the woods. A small space in a less than salubrious location allows patrons to enjoy a cocktail or beer free from troublesome tourists, and aside from kitsch surfing murals, retro film projections and erotic cartoons there's always a sexy soundtrack to facilitate the mood. If you're peckish Betty's has some of the best burgers in the city, whilst thanks to the Australian owner you can also enjoy a Cooper's sparkling ale - one of the planet's finest brews.

Rest in Peace, Betty Ford. The lady, that is, not the bar.... I hope someone in the bar will be toasting her tonight - a remarkable lady.

nicest bar staff ever!

I found this place through this website, and went there. It was excellent - laid back and just a bit funky. I also liked a lot the whole district, which is quite bohemian and away from the tourist traps. You can also have fun watching the skateboarders nearby (outside the Modern Art Museum). Betty Ford - just go!

I came. I saw. I drank Cooper's Pale Ale. And I think I'll have another one.....

I need the full detox treatment. Please put me on a Cooper's drip!

I'm going back to Barcelona mid-November and this is gonna be my first stop (and probably my last!) A great little place to hang out in! Keep a cold Coopers on ice for me, guys!

This is what bars should be like. They store unopened crates of (delicious) Cooper's in the main room, knowing that their cool clientele wouldn't even think of nicking it. And a brilliant name to boot.

I tried the burger! I nearly starved to death waiting for it, but it was damn tasty when it finally arrived. Overall Betty Ford's is a very cool little bar
