The Steve McQueen, Audrey Hepburn and Fritz Lang posters on the wall immediately let you know that La Fourmi is a bit hipper than your average Barcelona boozer. And a quick look around at the patrons, an eclectic mix of trendy students beavering away on their laptops and grey-haired Bohemians locked in heavyweight discussions, does nothing to dispel your initial impression. Thanks to its great range of light bites, such as naans, nachos and salads, and even better range of bottled beers (incl. Budva, Franziskaner, Leffe and Epidor), La Fourmi has a pleasant bustle all hours of the day. In fact it's one of the only bars in this part of Gracia that opens for breakfast (from 9am every day) and morning coffee. During weekends, from noon 'til 4pm, the kitchen also serves up a mean American, Mexican, French or 'sweet' brunch. And hey, it's never too early to order a cocktail with your scrambled eggs right? Seems like they've smartened the place up a bit these days with framed photos replacing the plastered posters on the wall. Still nice a vibe and cheap prices. Was quiet during the day, but no bad thing. Wifi worked well, staff cool.

I really loved this cute little cafe. A really chilled out place to check your email and play eye tennis with local girls. Was a bit too early in the day toe check out their range of beers when I was there, but will no doubt pop back one evening soon...
