The superbly-named Loch Inn is a great British boozer in Barcelona, with all of the positives that such a status implies, such as tasty dishes from the Isles, an unbeatable drinks selection and live sports screenings - and yet none of the negative stereotypes, such as hordes of drunk tourists and over-inflated prices. Wander up the rather regal Passeig de Sant Joan to number 74 and you'll find the likes of Guinness, Magners, Leffe Ruby and Czech Budvar on tap, and a small menu (chalked up behind the bar) of international faves which includes chicken curry, steak and ale pie and Spanish tapas, whilst four TVs play everything from Premier League matches to the cricket. Run by two friendly and enterprising Scotsmen, there's a whisky selection worth writing home about and naturally SPL games don't get neglected on the big screen. With an art exhibition space upstairs, Monday quiz night, regular darts competitions and acoustic jams, free WiFi and an ample street terrace, The Loch Inn ticks pretty much every box on the way to pub perfection.

No place better to watch the Dandy Dons scrape goalless draws at home to St Johnstone, especially if Lawson or Rusty are in the mood to throw in a sympathy dram on the house.
