Poetry Brothel

It's not often the word 'culture' and 'brothel' go together, but Barcelona is full of surprises and the Prostibulo Poetico is one of the city's especially intriguing ones. Several times a year (it's hard to predict exactly when - so best check our events!), this bordello of bards assembles in a decadent venue of their choosing and invites all comers to experience their oral delights - by which we mean poetry of course. Clients pay a nominal entry and then queue for some private time with these poetic putas, during which exotic and erotic verse is delivered in all of its naked glory. As well as the chance to experience bawdy ballads one-on-one, a night at the Poetry Brothel usually includes theatrical and musical performances, and a fair bit of indulgence in the fruits of Dionysus to ensure the mood is suitably lyrical.

Amazing fun. All the 'putas' are great poets and it's great to hear poetry in a personal setting, where it feels more powerful.
